With Visa-on-arrival Fee Waived Off, Now is the Perfect Time to Plan a Thai Vacay

A few days back came to news that put a smile on the face of every globetrotter and started itching them to book cheap international flight tickets. In order to boost the footfall of international tourists, Thai authorities announced waiving off the visa-on-arrival fee.

A fee of THB (Thai Baht) 2000 or approx. INR (Indian Rupees) 4400 was levied earlier on tourists applying for visas after arriving in the Southeast Asian country. However, holidaymakers planning to enjoy the pristine beaches, ornate Buddhist temples, ancient ruins, and effervescent nightlife of Thailand between December 1, 2018, and January 31, 2019, will not have to pay this fee.

The move is a result of the decline in international tourism, especially from China, which slid about 12 percent in the month of August. In July, dozens of holidaymakers from China lost their lives in a tour boat accident off the coast of Phuket. The incident sparked safety concerns and the influx of Chinese tourists in Thailand saw a sudden dip in the following months. This offer extends for anyone who is staying in the Land of Smiles for less than 15 days.

The visa fee exemption stands for the citizens of India along with 20 other countries that include China, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Maldives, Malta, Kazakhstan, Bhutan, and Ethiopia. Furthermore, the people of Andora, Cyprus, Fiji, Latvia, Lithuania, Mauritius, Papua New Guinea, San Marino, and Uzbekistan can also enjoy this waiver.

Recently, MATTA or Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents also asked the government to waive off the visa-on-arrival fee for Indian and Chinese tourists. Thus, another great news might just be on its way.

So, with the visa-on-arrival fee waived off for the coming two months, what could be a better time to book cheap international flight tickets and set forth on a vacation to the tropical paradise of Thailand?! Behold, admire, and be spellbound by the rich cultural and natural heritage of this Southeast Asian country on an enthralling sojourn with your family or friends. Now, you have 4400 more reasons to do so!
