The timeless wisdom and practice of Yoga have been for ages. The practise of Yoga originated in India, but it is widely celebrated all across the globe. Almost all the major nations have accepted and appreciated the magical effects of Yoga.
On this International Yoga Day, we are here to explore the ways Yoga and travelling have similar positive effects to offer to us.
So let us look at them:
Letâs discuss them, one by one.
There are hundreds of Asanas in Yoga, and each of them helps us unlock the hidden treasure of potential in our mind, body, and soul.
Similarly, travelling allows us to explore new places, cultures, people, and architecture. Travelling exposes us to new ideas and makes us aware of how small we are on this enormous planet. It makes us humbler and more knowledgeable and energises us
The practitioners of Yoga are always keen on discovering more about themselves. Given the number of Asanas, if one practises even one asana whole-heartedly, they become more aware and robust from the inside. So, they are always looking out to discover more about themselves.
Similarly, as one starts travelling more, they discover about themselves and get to know about new people and places. Thus, they become more aware and look out for more travel opportunities.
The literal meaning of Yoga is âUnionâ, which means to become one with everything, to become one with the universe. Yoga helps to obliterate the boundaries of existence and look at everything as a part of ourselves. This makes us more responsible and enables us to refrain from causing any harm to anyone or anything related to the beautiful universe.
Similarly, as people travel more, they meet people of different cultures and traditions and observe how they have different rituals that they follow every day. Travelling makes us more connected, lovable and compassionate
There are multiple Kriyas (steps) in Yoga, and one has to perform them to move ahead. Yoga is a Sadhna that one has to perform and become better each time and sharpen their awareness and sense organs. To become better each time is a long journey in Yoga, and one has to be involved in it continuously while being patient throughout the process.
In travelling also, one has endless opportunities to discover new places. This discovery process is a long, or to say, never-ending journey that one can enjoy and cherish forever.
Daily practice of Yoga makes one more and more aware of their surroundings. It enables one to notice their negative emotions, such as anger and control them. People who donât practise Yoga often find themselves entangled in their thoughts and ideas.
Similarly, when people travel more, they begin to understand more about the world around them. They become more aware of the affairs going around them.
Both Yoga and travelling offer a beautiful way to explore ourselves and the world around us with better clarity and focus. So, on this International Yoga Day, letâs take the opportunity to practise yoga not just today but every day.
